According to information released by School Superintendent Roy Belson, the budget is nearly 4% higher than the current year’s.

The school budget also includes $625,000 in one-time outside funding. The money will cover $100,000 for new textbooks, $100,000 for technology, $250,000 for the school literacy program, $20,000 each for music education and athletics, and $100,000 for safety repairs at all school buildings, including playgrounds.

The entire budget, including an overview prepared by Superintendent Belson, is available on the school website.

The school budget still needs to be approved by the Medford City Council.

The City Council is holding its next budget hearing on June 26.
