AC Girls Cross Country Team Remains Undefeated for 5th Straight Season

On Thursday, October 24, the Catholic Central League Championship Meet was held at Franklin Park. In the girls’ varsity race, senior Arianna Maida of Bishop Fenwick was the individual winner, finishing in 20:01. Senior Elizabeth Lombardo, the regular season CCL MVP, finished 2nd in 20:15. Junior Abby Hogan of Cardinal Spellman (20:34), senior Kaitlin McCauley of Arlington Catholic (20:38) and 8th grader Stephanie Casaletto of Austin Prep (20:39) rounded out the top 5. Led by McCauley and freshmen Alexandra Kay (6th, 20:47) and Veronica Seguin (8th, 21:15), the Arlington Catholic girls team put 6 runners in the top 16 and won the CCL team title for the fifth consecutive year. Bishop Fenwick, led by Maida and sophomore Sydney Packard (7th, 21:00), finished a close 2nd in the team scoring.

In the boys’ varsity race, senior Nick Seymour of Marian (17:25) outkicked senior Ben Gordon of Cardinal Spellman (17:37), the regular season MVP, to claim the overall title. St. Mary’s of Lynn, led by sophomore Thomas Mackin (3rd, 18:03), put 4 runners in the top 10 and edged Cardinal Spellman for the boys’ team title.
