The Medford High School girls varsity hockey team followed up their season opening 4-2 loss to Winthrop last week with a 6-1 home victory over Marblehead on Wednesday. The Mustangs benefited from a balanced offensive attack that saw all the offensive lines contribute at least one goal, said assistant coach Josh Glionna. Senior Brittani Lanzilli paced the offense with three goals. Junior Nicole Mortell, freshman Mia Price, and eighth grader Riley Lynch added a goal apiece. Entering the third period the Mustangs held a 2-1 lead, and they iced the victory with four third period goals. Freshman goalie Trisha MacLean earned the win in goal.
