Joey LopezJoseph S. “Joey” Lopez died suddenly at his Medford home. He was 22.

Joey lived his whole life in Medford. A standout athlete and Soccer player at Medford High, Joey graduated with the class of 2009. He entered Suffolk University and was presently a member of the senior class and would have graduated this spring. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his many friends.

The cherished son of Susan E. Lopez, he was the beloved brother of Allison Gray of Medford, Ashley Lopez of Lynnfield, Al Lopez of Salem and Tina Cambria of Revere. The devoted nephew of Laury and Bouchaib Chbani, Gary and Laura Lopez, he was a dear cousin to Alea and Lucas Chbani and also leaves many nieces, nephews and his beloved dog KC.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 11 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at Noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Tuesday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
