On Monday March 3, 2014, Team Medford and Medford High Athletics Department will be hosting a free presentation by Chris Herren titled ‘The Game Has Changed,’ a powerful and moving narrative about Herren’s life with an addiction disorder and his journey to recovery. Herren will be discussing the negative effects drugs and other substances had on his life and his road to recovery. This event is especially geared towards youth and their families residing in the City of Medford.
Chris Herren is a former Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics player who grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts. Upon graduating from high school, he was introduced to drugs and alcohol and struggled with substance abuse most of his basketball career. Being drug-free and alcohol-free since 2008, Herren travels around the nation sharing his story and how he overcame all of the obstacles that impacted his life.
The event is taking place at the Chevalier Theater on March 3 at 6:45PM. It is free and open to the public.
