Citing public safety concerns, Medford Police Chief Leo Sacco has re-instated the city’s winter parking ban for the next month. The ban, which the Traffic Commission unanimously voted to end in September, limits parking to only one side of the street overnight during the winter. The suspension of the ban was an experiment for this winter season and the Chief had reserved the right to put the ban back in place. Currently, parking is limited to the odd side only between the hours of midnight and 7:00AM for one month, according to the city website. Anyone who violates the ban could be subject to a ticket and possibly towed if “it [is] determined that the free flow of traffic is impeded.”
