MHS Students Receive Art, Writing Awards

Several Medford High School students received recognition in the annual Boston Globe Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Marissa Coit earned Gold Key honors for her portfolio of eight pieces as well as for her sculpture, according to information released by art teacher Michele MacKenzie.

Other art winners included Jeremy Martins (Twisted Faith, Sculpture, Gold Key); Rebecca Di Tucci (Flower Of Fatality, Sculpture, Silver Key), Zoe Pancic (Into My World, Drawing, Silver Key and The Eye’s Reflection, Painting, Silver Key), Tyla Tognarelli (Paper People, Sculpture, Silver Key), Audrey Ring (Little Fixes, Drawing, Silver Key and Realized Reality, Drawing, Silver Key), Marcus Howard (Anxiety, Photography, Honorable Mention), Amy Lam (Leaving Home, Drawing,Honorable Mention), Bianca Mase (Untitled, Photography, Honorable Mention), Barbara Souza (Creature From Another World, Sculpture, Honorable Mention), Briana Struppa (The Wrath Of War, Sculpture, Honorable Mention), and Ashley Zero (Garden Of Evil, Sculpture, Honorable Mention).

Freshman Abigail McCarthy received a Gold Key for writing while Adrian Novoa earned a Silver Key. Julia Casey, Hannah Gultom, Amel Hassan, Jose Pineda and Carly Roy all received Honorable Mentions.
