Billboard Campaign Promotes Run for Krystle

Run for Krystle

Clear Channel Outdoor has donated billboard space to promote the Run for Krystle, which will benefit the University of Massachusetts Krystle Campbell Scholarship fund. Krystle Campbell, an inspiring, hardworking young woman from Medford who had attended the University of Massachusetts Boston, was killed in the 2013 bombings at the Boston Marathon.

The scholarship will support educational opportunities for women pursuing a degree in business at UMass. Clear Channel Outdoor has donated space for a billboard message which will remain up in the Boston area through this year’s Marathon to help raise awareness of the Run for Krystle website, www.runforkrystle.com, and to help other young women work toward their dreams with Krystle as their inspiration.

Krystle’s enthusiasm for learning, dedication to her family and remarkable work ethic live on in this scholarship fund; this year her supporters, including several UMass students and alumni, will join the Run for Krystle 2014 Boston Marathon Team to run and raise funds in her memory. The goal of the billboard is to reach out to the community at large and to raise awareness so that more UMass students can benefit from the scholarship in Krystle’s name.

“Clear Channel Outdoor’s support of the UMass campuses’ efforts to raise scholarship funds in memory of Krystle Campbell is a truly noble endeavor,” said UMass Boston Chancellor J. Keith Motley. “All of those involved, particularly those running in this year’s Marathon in her memory, are grateful for their contribution.”

“Out of the heartbreaking loss of this hardworking and positive woman, the Krystle Campbell Scholarship Fund has resulted in a legacy of her strength and motivation as an inspiration for other students,” said Stephen Ross, President of Clear Channel Outdoor Boston Division. “The funds raised through the Run for Krystle will help make a contribution to the lives of other UMass students, like Krystle, and we are proud to be part of supporting this fitting tribute.”
