City to Hold Summer Recreation Program Jobs Lottery

The City of Medford is accepting applications for the following positions in our Summer Recreation Program: Lifeguards, Bathhouse Attendants and Park Instructors.

The Summer Program for the Pool and Pond are tentatively scheduled to run from June 30, 2014 to August 23/August 30, 2014 while the Park Program is tentatively scheduled from July 7, 2014 to August 15, 2014. All programming is subject to funding.

If you are interested in applying, you must be committed to the schedule listed above.

You can obtain an application in Room 204 of Medford City Hall, the Athletic Department at Medford High School or download one here. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply for a position. In order to participate in the Lifeguard Lottery, you are required to hold certification (or pending certification by June 1, 2014) in CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard Training. Also, a CORI check is conducted as a requirement of employment.

All applications must be received by the Personnel Office by April 30, 2014. The lottery will be held on May 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Room 204 of Medford City Hall. You are not required to be in attendance. Should you not be selected for a current opening, your name will be put on a list based on lottery results as an alternate.

The Lifeguard position requires 30 hours of work per week and pays $307.50 per week. For Bathhouse Attendants, you are required to work 25 hours per week at $200 per week. For Park Instructors, the hours will be 20 hours per week from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at $160 per week.
