Farmers Market Seeking Donations to Expand Access to Local Food

The Medford Farmers Market is seeking $7,000 in donations for two programs that increase access to locally grown food. According to an email from organizers, the farmers market needs the funds to continue its SNAP benefits matching program and to launch a new project that would bring subsidized fresh, local produce to the Willis Avenue housing development in Medford. Organizers are pushing to raise the funds by May 1st in order to commit to running the programs. More details about the programs and ways to donate are available on www.medfordfarmersmarket.org.
