Mustang Baseball Team Defeats Malden

On Thursday afternoon the Medford High School baseball team picked up its first league win of the season with a 4-0 win over Malden. Senior Ryan Colbert (pictured) pitched a complete game two-hitter, striking out ten Golden Tornadoes. Seniors Eric Spinale and Justin Alley led the offense, with Spinale knocking in two runs and Alley reaching base safely in all four at bats and stealing four bases. Medford’s JV and freshmen teams also picked up the win. The Mustangs host a double-header with Lexington Saturday starting at 9AM. The second game will follow twenty-five minutes after the end of the first.
