Mustang Softball Team Earns GBL Wins

The Medford High School girls softball team followed up Monday’s win over Somerville with a 10-2 home victory over Cambridge on Tuesday.

Sophomore ace Ashley Eisnor once again dominated her opponents, striking out twelve while pitching a two hitter, according to Head Coach Jack Dempsey. She also contributed an RBI single.

The Lady Mustangs had fourteen hits, led by junior Bailey Flynn (two hits, two runs, and two stolen bases) and sophomore Renee Staude (two hits, two runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI’s). Junior Brianna Napoleone’s line drive triple drove in two runs. Julia Kearney contributed a triple, sac bunt, and two RBI’s while senior captain Sarah Donnelly had a double and two RBI’s.

The locals banged out 14 hits paced once again by table setters Junior Bailey Flynn ,2 hits,2 runs and 2 stolen bases, and sophomore Renee Staude ,2 hits,2 runs ,2 stolen bases and 2 rbi’s. Junior’s Brianna Napoleone a line drive triple driving in 2 runs, Julia Kearney ,triple, sac bunt and 2 rbi’s and Senior Captain Sarah Donnelly double and 2 rbi’s. Julia Mitrano, Cassandra Keddy, GiGi Braga, and Amber Harbison also contributed to the hit parade, said Coach Dempsey.

Next up for the Lady Mustangs is a trip to arch rival Malden on Friday.
