Clean Water Action Endorses Christine Barber for State Rep

Somerville community activist and public health advocate Christine Barber has been named an “Environmental Champion” and has been endorsed for election by Clean Water Action.

“Christine Barber is a committed advocate ready to take on the immense struggles our communities and environment are facing today,” said Elizabeth Saunders, Massachusetts Director for Clean Water Action. “The 34th Middlesex District, a core of progressive power in Massachusetts, will benefit greatly from Christine’s leadership and we at Clean Water Action are excited to partner with her in fighting for clean air, clean water and healthy, vibrant neighborhoods.”

“I am proud to have the support of Clean Water Action. It is critically important that we address the potentially disastrous effects of climate change immediately,” said Christine Barber. “The number one priority for me when I get to the State House will be the extension of the Green Line which will bring efficient mass transit to Somerville and Medford and drastically reduce the pollution caused by commuting from our cities. It will help us save and clean the Mystic River which is an amazing asset to this community.”
