AG Coakley Receives Party Nomination for Gov

Current Attorney General and Medford resident Martha Coakley was victorious in a 3-way race to receive the Democratic Party’s nomination for Governor, according to preliminary results from Boston.com. In Medford, Coakley received 55% of the vote.

Tuesday’s winners also included Somerville resident Christine Barber, who defeated Medford School Committee member Erin DiBenedetto and Craig Rourke in the Democratic primary for state representative. Current District Attorney Marian Ryan also successfully fended off challenger Michael Sullivan.
