Barber Receives Endorsements in State Rep Race

Congresswoman Katherine Clark Endorses Barber

Christine Barber announced the endorsement of Congresswoman Katherine Clark. The Congresswoman says it is Barber’s effective leadership on a wide array of progressive public policy matters which earned Christine her endorsement. The 34th Middlesex House District overlaps the 5th Congressional District in the town of Medford.

“Christine is the best candidate to succeed Carl Sciortino. She is the progressive voice we need on Beacon Hill. As State Representative, Christine will work to keep our environment clean, create strong schools and provide affordable housing for the residents of Somerville and Medford.” said Rep. Clark.

“I am proud to have the support of Congresswoman Clark. She has been a strong voice for progressive ideals and for her constituents both in Washington and before that on Beacon Hill.” said Barber, a policy expert with years of experience advocating for Medford and Somerville families. “I look forward to working for the ideals which we share and to represent the communities of Medford and Somerville.”

Barber won the Democratic Primary for the 34th Middlesex district on September 9th and has also earned endorsements of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, AFT-MA, SEIU Local 509, SEIU 1199, NASW-MA, Progressive Massachusetts, Medford for Massachusetts, Clean Water Action Massachusetts and the Sierra Club of Massachusetts. She earned a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
