Barber Endorsed by Sen. Jehlen

Christine Barber announced the endorsement of Senator Patricia Jehlen. Senator Jehlen points to Christine’s experience, having seen her work and abilities first-hand.

“I know Christine’s work from when she worked in the State House for some of the most respected women in the legislature. She knows how to write legislation, but she also knows how to work to bring interest groups together to get bills passed. I also know her from her work for affordable housing and jobs here in Somerville. She can carry on that work in the House, with the knowledge she has of people’s needs and possible solutions. She’s rooted in the community, and will represent us well. I’m looking forward to having her as a partner for Medford and Somerville.” said Sen. Jehlen.

“I am proud to have the support of Senator Jehlen. She has been an exceptional leader on progressive issues, particularly for our schools and children” said Barber, a policy expert with years of experience advocating for Medford and Somerville families. “I look forward to joining her in representing Medford and Somerville and serving our communities.”

Barber won the Democratic Primary for the 34th Middlesex district on September 9th and has also earned endorsements from the Massachusetts Teachers Association, AFT-MA, SEIU Local 509, SEIU 1199, NASW-MA, Progressive Massachusetts, Medford for Massachusetts, Clean Water Action Massachusetts and the Sierra Club of Massachusetts. She has a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
