Lady Mustang Hockey Team Ties Marblehead

On Saturday, February 14th the Medford High girls varsity hockey team and Marblehead skated to a tie for the second time this season. This time the game ended 2-2. Medford’s freshman winger Riley Lynch started the scoring five minutes into the game with her third goal of the season. The lead did not last long as the Headers’ eighth grader Brooke Keough scored her 23rd goal of the season 83 seconds later.  The second period was similar to the first. The Lady Mustangs’ Nicole Mortell shot in a rebound for her seventh goal of the season with three minutes remaining in the period but Marblehead eighth grader Sydney Cresta scored her 14th goal of the season to tie the game 72 seconds later. Medford’s sophomore goalie Trisha MacLean made 20 saves to secure the tie.

Next up for the Lady Mustangs is a home match up versus Northeastern Hockey League opponent Peabody on Tuesday at 4pm followed by hosting the Woburn Tanners Wednesday at noon.
