McGillivray Visits MHS, Honors Campbell

Long-time Boston Marathon Race Director and Medford High School graduate Dave McGillivray visited his alma mater on April 15, the second anniversary of the marathon bombings. The 1972 class valedictorian paid tribute to fellow MHS graduate Krystle Campbell, one of the three people killed. In addition to running a successful sports events management company, McGillivray often delivers motivational speeches. He is pictured giving a medal to an MHS tudent who said he was interested in running a marathon; McGillivray noted that the majority of people he has given a medal to have gone on to run marathons. Video of McGillivray’s talk to tenth grade students is currently playing on Medford’s educational access station. Photos by senior Marcus Howard.
