City to Hold Public Hearing on Zoning for Medical Marijuana Aug. 5th

On August 5 the Community Development Board will hold a meeting to discuss establishing zoning for “safe access” to medical marijuana, according to a public notice.

There is a proposed amendment to city ordinances that would establish definitions, locations, and use by zoning district, among other things.

Last September the Council approved a six month moratorium on the establishment of medical marijuana facilities in Medford so the city would have time to review its zoning laws. The moratorium followed the state’s announcement of the approval of the establishment of several medical marijuana facilities in the area, with the closest one to be located in Cambridge.

The meeting is taking place at 6:00 PM in Room 201 at Medford City Hall.
