Medford Overcoming Addiction Hosting KickBall Tournament

Medford Overcoming Addiction is hosting its first annual “kicking addiction” kickball tournament fundraiser.

The event is taking place at 9:00 AM on August 15 at Tufts Park in Medford. The rain date is August 16.

In addition to the kickball tournament, there will be food, refreshments, music, resource tables, and prizes.

The event is open to all and is intended to “break the stigma and raise awareness” of addiction in Medford. The money raised will go toward a scholarship fund to help people in early recovery access support services and healthy living arrangements, such as a sober house or other types of recovery houses.

The $10 per person registration fee covers kickball, food, and refreshments. Teams can have 10 to 12 players and must include at least one female. The registration deadline is August 1.

Anyone interested in participating, either as a player or volunteer, can register online. Donations can also be made online.

The event is being co-sponsored by Sanctuary United Church of Christ.
