Winner of Rep. Clark’s Essay Contest to Join Her for Pope’s Visit

Congresswoman Katherine Clark is inviting a member of her district to see Pope Francis with her when he addresses Congress in September. The winner of an essay contest will be her lucky guest. The following announcement is from Rep. Clark’s office:

Would you like to accompany me to hear Pope Francis address Congress in September?

On September 24, Pope Francis will deliver the first-ever address by a leader of the Holy See to a joint session of Congress.

Each Member of Congress may invite one person to attend this historic event, and I’d like to invite a resident of MA-5 whose story, life, or life’s work embodies the message of social justice offered by Pope Francis.

In no more than 500 words, tell us why you, or someone in your life, should join me for the Pope’s address.

Deadline: All essays must be submitted by 5PM on Thursday August, 20.

Essay guidelines: Submissions should be no longer than 500 words. Submit essays and questions to CongresswomanClarkPress@gmail.com.
