Mayoral Candidate Burke Challenges Opponent Penta to Debates

I, Stephanie Muccini Burke, challenge my opponent, Robert M. Penta to commit a minimum of three debates focusing on key priorities within the City of Medford.

Voters in every part of the City deserve an honest debate focused around the candidate that has the best experience, ideas and vision to carry us forward as a community. The most important part of any election is to know where candidates stand on issues facing the community and I believe this would be a great opportunity to hear what both candidates value most within the city.

I want the residents of Medford to have the opportunity to understand what I will do to meet the needs of our community in order to improve all areas of interest to our citizens.

As a candidate for Mayor, my priorities focus on economic development, public safety, the public school system, protecting the environment, municipal operations, community initiatives and enhancing cultural establishments throughout the city.

As you may be aware, one debate is being scheduled by the Chamber of Commerce in October, 2015. I hope we can agree on two additional ones. Suggestions for moderators could be:

– Republican and Democratic city committee members
– Citywide PTO’s
– Independent leagues (Regional League of Women Voters)

I look forward to hearing back from Mr. Penta in regards to scheduling such debates, along with working with local organizations/groups to determine the format and moderators.

– Submitted by Burke’s campaign
