‘Medford is Home’ Aug. 15th

“Medford is Home,” a community celebration in dance, poetry, song, visual arts, and words, is taking place on Saturday, August 15.

“Home is more than a house,” said local historian and event organizer Dee Morris.

The event is the last one of several Morris held with the “home” theme. In April, an event at the Library focused on Fannie Farmer and her cooking revolution; in May, Morris discussed homes animals make, such as nests, at the Medford Family Network; in June, she presented information about the Lawrence Estates; and in July, Morris explored the concept that every home has a history.

This August 15 celebration will take place at the New Life Baptist Church from 7-9pm. Several members of the community will offer dance, song, poetry, visual arts and reflections. At the end, the audience will have a chance to chat and to enjoy some light refreshments.
