Medford Educational Foundation Hosts Kickoff Beach Party Sept. 20th

The Medford Educational Foundation (MEF) invites residents and friends to a Wright’s Pond kickoff beach party on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 3pm to 7pm to celebrate becoming Medford’s newest educational nonprofit and raise awareness of how the MEF will support teacher innovation in the classroom. Thanks to the City’s generosity, the gates of Wright’s Pond on Elm Street will be opened for this one special day on the last weekend of summer. Special features will include:

– Live music and local food trucks

– Beach balls, beach games, sandcastle-building, and more!

– A chance to honor your favorite teachers and staff

– “Friends of the Fells” scavenger hunt

– Tai Chi demo at sunset

This “sand-tastic” event will be rain or shine (heavy rain will cancel) from 3pm until dusk. Suggested donation $10 or more – with additional opportunities to honor Medford public school teachers and staff available inside. (Parking available at Wright’s Pond or walk up from Flynn Rink.)
