Girls JV Soccer Team Wraps Up Season

On October 27th the Medford High girls junior varsity soccer team earned a 7-0 shutout at Lawrence High. The Mustangs jumped out to a 6-0 lead by halftime. Five different Mustangs netted goals including Sophia Pierre, Lydia Klein, Allison Harvey scoring a goal each and Ajani Martin-Abascal and Exsandrine Jean Marie adding two goals. The Lady Mustang defense of Samantha Liu, Allison Harvey, Sophia Pierre, Youventha Raymond, Ajani Martin-Abascal, and Sofia Bendok helped preserve the shutout by limiting the Lancers to only a few shots on goal.

The following day the Lady Mustangs wrapped up their season on a rainy afternoon picking up a 3-0 victory versus Somerville. Freshman Leanna Tassinari scored twice for the fourth time this season. Sophomore Lydia Klein added her second goal in as many days. Sophomore Francesca Viggiani and freshman Sophia Bendok combined in goal to record their fourth shutout of the season.

Overall, the JV finished the season with a record of 5-8-2 including a being 5-0-1 in the Greater Boston League.
