Cradock Bridge Construction Meeting Feb. 2nd

The Medford City Council is holding a Committee of the Whole meeting about the reconstruction of the historic Cradock Bridge.

A temporary bridge deck has been installed help keep traffic flowing while the Cradock Bridge and the portion of Main Street it carries are under construction for three years. The work is part of a $12.784 million project to rehabilitate the bridge and is funded through the Accelerated Bridge Program. Construction of the bridge will be completed in multiple stages to accommodate two travel lanes in each direction during the renovation.

During the meeting city officials and the public will have an opportunity to discuss he use of jersey barriers, public safety, crosswalks, accessibility, and bus stops, among other things.

The Council has asked MassDOT representatives, the construction project manager, State Senator Pat Jehlen, State Representative Paul Donato, City Solicitor Mark Rumley, Police Chief Leo Sacco, City Engineer Cassandra Koutalidas, interim DPW Commissioner Brian Kerins, and Community Development Director Lauren DiLorenzo to attend the meeting.
