Lady Mustang Hockey Defeats Shawsheen

For the second time in three weeks the Medford High girls varsity hockey team was victorious versus Shawsheen Tech. This time at LoConte rink on February 3rd, the Mustangs won 8-1. Sophomore defenseman Annamae Aurilio wasted no time getting the Mustangs on the scoreboard as she scored on a wrist shot from the blue line seventeen seconds into the game. Mary Kate Lynch, Ailish Fallon, and Julia Shanahan kept the scoring going as the Lady Mustangs were up 4-0 after the first period.

After a scoreless second period the third period saw four more goals as Fallon added her team leading 8th goal of the season. Freshman Brenna Forbes scored twice and eighth grader Erin Allen added a goal too. Helping to create the offense was freshman Lauren Brown who recording three assists.

Freshman Terrell Pesaturo and junior Trisha MacLean turned aside all but one of the Rams shots in goal.

The Lady Mustangs have three home games remaining. Wednesday vs. Peabody at 7pm, February 15th vs Melrose at noon, and February 17th vs. Watertown at noon. All home games are at LoConte rink.
