Globe Magazine: Medford Real Estate Market ‘Soaring’

The April 17 Sunday edition of The Boston Globe magazine lists Medford on a list of Greater Boston communities with the fastest selling properties and in an article about “soaring” home markets in the area.

According to The Globe, single family homes and condos in Medford are on the market for an average of 42 and 35 days, respectively. Arlington, Cambridge, Jamaica Plain, Watertown, and Somerville are also on the list for the area’s fastest selling homes.

In an article about hot markets, Medford is listed as an alternative to Somerville and Cambridge. According to the article, Medford’s median single family home price has risen 8% to $463,500.

The Globe says proximity to Boston and Cambridge, Tufts University, and “good government, diversity, and lively city centers” have raised Medford’s profile.

“Whether the Green Line [extension] comes or not, I think Medford is still the next big place,” said Manish Kumar, president of Maven Realty.
