A Medford man has won thousands of dollars from the state lottery with just two lucky plays, according to several published reports.

Chi Chan first won $1,000 on a scratch ticket. After picking up his prize at the lottery headquarters in Braintree, Chan decided to buy another lottery ticket. That ticket turned out to be worth $1 million dollars.

Chan took the $650,000 one-time pay out. He is the first winner for the $30 scratch game “Ultimate Millions.”
