Map Shows Local Rents, Subway Stops

Apartment-hunting site RentHop has created a visual graphic of rents in the Boston area using a subway map. The graphic shows the median rent for a one bedroom apartment and the percent change in price from 2015. According to RentHop, the median rent for a one bedroom apartment near the Wellington MBTA station on the Orange Line is $1,600, a 10% increase over 2015. RentHop says it looked at listings within 500 meters of train station entrances, with a minimum threshold of 50 listings. If too few listings were in that area, RentHop “incrementally expanded” the radius around the train station to meet the threshold.

RentHop’s map is below and is also available to view at a higher resolution here.
