Turner’s Seafood Hosts Month Long Oyster Celebration This Fall

This September Turner’s Seafood is hosting its annual “Oyster Fest,” a month-long celebration spotlighting the oyster. From September 1st, 2016 through September 30th, 2016 guests can order from a special menu featuring a variety of oyster-based dishes available at both the Turner’s Melrose and Turner’s Salem, MA locations. Each year Turner’s restaurants serve more than 150,000 live shucked oysters from various New England growers, all of which are individually counted and inspected on a daily basis to ensure quality and wholesomeness.

At Turner’s Seafood at Lyceum Hall in Salem, Executive Chef Yale Woodson is preparing a variety of appetizers including Oyster Fondue, Southern fried oysters served au gratin with green chili queso, $16; Sweet and Spicy oysters, fried oysters tossed in a Thai chili sauce with wasabi aioli served over Napa slaw, $12; and Russian River Style Oysters, a half dozen fresh shucked oysters on the half shell dressed with fresh squeezed lemon, chopped hardboiled egg, crème fraîche and Siberian caviar served with a chilled Hammer & Sickle vodka tasting, $22. For the main course guests can dine on Oyster Stuffed Gloucester Sole, $28 and an Oyster Po Boy on a soft griddled roll with sriracha aioli, jalapeno bacon, lettuce, tomato and French fries, $15.

At the Melrose location, Executive Chef Jaime Aguilar will be cooking up his own set of specials including Thai Oysters with lo mein noodles, sweet and spicy peanut sauce, toasted sesame seeds, scallions and crispy wontons, $12; Tequila and Oysters, a half dozen daily selected oysters dressed with a cilantro jalapeno relish served with a seasoned El Jimador tequila tasting, $18; and the Chef’s Sampler including rockefella, casino, fresco and Bienville, $13.
