City Hall Re-Launches Adopt-a-Site Program

Adopt-a-site Joe Russo

As part of an ongoing campaign to beautify the City of Medford, Mayor Stephanie M. Burke invites businesses, organizations, families, and others to adopt parcels of municipal land to maintain, beautify, or use as a unique marketing opportunity. Sites ranging from traffic islands to spaces adjacent to roads and parks are available to be adopted and adorned with plants, flowers, benches, sponsorship signs, art, or other installations.

“We’re excited to re-launch this program and invite the dedicated businesses, organization, and individuals in our community to help contribute to the beauty of this city by adopting sites,” said Mayor Burke. “Adopt-a-site programs have been successful in Medford in the past and have proven to contribute to the re-invigoration of public spaces throughout the city.”

Once a sponsor has identified a potential space to adopt, the City and sponsor will work together to assess the availability of the space and discuss projects, plantings, and installations. Anyone interested in sponsoring a site, or any business or organization that currently maintains a site is welcome to complete an application by contacting Business & Cultural Liaison Allie Fiske at 781-393-2408, emailing afiske@medford.org, or downloading the application on the City of Medford website at www.medfordma.org/mayor.
