Medford Relaunches Senior Work-Off Abatement Program

Mayor Stephanie M. Burke is pleased to announce the relaunching of Medford’s Senior Work-Off Abatement Program this October. This initiative provides Medford seniors with potential employment opportunities within City Hall. Qualified seniors, over the age of 60, can complete up to 100 hours of work in return for a property tax abatement of up to $1000.

Any senior who is a resident in Medford will be eligible for this program. After filling out an application and completing a brief interview, qualified seniors will be matched with a municipal department.

“This program will utilize the valuable skills and abilities of seniors in the Medford community, while allowing the City of Medford to enhance our services”, said Mayor Burke.

Applications are available online at www.medfordma.org/senior-work-off-abatement and can be obtained in the Mayor’s Office, Room 204 in Medford City Hall. For more information, contact Joe Russo or Vivienne Wright at 781-393-2408 or jrusso@medford.org.
