Free Education Series to Provide Crucial Skills for Dementia Caregivers

The Alzheimer’s Association is presenting a series of workshops on essential skills for family and caregivers. The first workshop in this series will be held Wednesday, October 19 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Iora Primary Care, 287 Middlesex Avenue, Medford. Two additional workshops will follow at the same time and place on October 26 and November 2.

The Essential Skills for Family Caregivers series provides education and practical tools to those caring for someone with dementia. The goal of the series is to improve day-to-day living and overall quality of life for the person with dementia and the caregiver. The series covers communication techniques, strategies to manage difficult behaviors, and safety in the home. Essential Skills is free and is intended for family caregivers.
