Local Artists Portray Medford in Watercolor

Local artists display new pieces at the Mystic Coffee Roaster this month. The artists sketched and painted on location at the Circle the Square summer street festival and the Mystic River Celebration at the Condon Shell. Their resulting work expresses the uniqueness and vibrance of our urban-suburban area.

Medford resident and accomplished actor-playwright Laura Duggan created a series entitled ‘Visions of Medford’ including several classic landmarks such as the Hand Memorial Footbridge, Wright’s Pond, and Grace Church.

Medford illustrator Jenn DesAutels painted onsite watercolor portraits of performers at the Mystic River Celebration and people at Meadow Glen Mall before it was demolished last spring.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular business hours at the Mystic Coffee Roaster. Art sales will benefit CACHE in Medford. The public is also welcome to chat with artists at a casual reception on October 15, 2:30-3:30pm. The exhibit continues through November 5. It is part of the Arts Across Medford lineup of events during the month of October, organized by CACHE in Medford and made possible by funding through the Medford Arts Council, a local agent of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
