Two Juveniles Convicted for Assaulting Medford Police
|– Allison Goldsberry
Medford Police Lieutenant Paul Covino announced yesterday that the last two juveniles arrested for assaulting Medford Police officers after a carnival in April 2005 have been convicted.
The two juveniles, whose names have been withheld given their age, were convicted on Friday. According to Lt. Covino, the first juvenile was found to be delinquent for the charges of assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
The second juvenile was found delinquent on the charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, but was not found delinquent for assault and battery on a police officer.
The juveniles were among several others arrested in April 2005 for an incident that occurred after the city’s annual carnival that involved a fight with Medford Police. None of those arrested are from Medford.
The city later canceled the carnival, which had become a yearly tradition, and has not held a carnival in the City Hall parking lot since 2005.
InsideMedford.com will have more on this story on Monday after police release more information.
Great news! Now that the two kids have been caught, can we have the carnival again? Or is it still considered too dangerous, given that there are other teens still walking around freely?
