TV3 Evaluation Hearing Cancelled
|City Waiting for Completion of Financial Audit
– Allison Goldsberry
A performance evaluation hearing scheduled for Wednesday, April 16 for TV3 has been cancelled due to a delay in the completion of a financial audit of the station.
City Solicitor Mark Rumley said the city will reschedule the hearing once the financial audit is done. Rumley is not sure when the audit will be finished.
A second hearing, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, might also be rescheduled, according to Rumley.
The audit, which is being conducted by Melanson and Heath, is checking the financial information of TV3 from the past five years. It was originally supposed to take thirty to forty-five days and is taking longer than expected.
A performance evaluation hearing was called by Rumley and Mayor Michael McGlynn to look at the station’s operations, namely, how it has handled its funds and how it has provided public access in the community. The Mayor selected retired Judge Marie Jackson, formely of Medford, to serve as the impartial evaluator for the hearing.Â

It is good to be thorough, but aren’t there going to be multiple hearings? It would have been nice to get the ball rolling. Perhaps the judge is aware of things coming out in the audit that she needs to evaluate fairly. Once again the entire community has to take a back seat and wait wait wait
