Local Girl Finalist in State Pageant
|Twelve-year-old Miranda Arena of Medford, pictured at left, has been named a state finalist in the National American Miss Massachusetts Pageant.
The McGlynn Middle School student, daughter of parents Laurie and Mark Arena, will compete in a pageant August 7-9 at the Burlington Marriott for a cash prize and the chance to go to Disneyland for the national pageant.
Miranda is involved in the drama club, basketball, and dance competitions. Her sponsors include her parents, grandparents Norma and Anthony Arena and Marilyn and Donald Coleman, Essential Care Chiropractic Center, The Center for Muscular Therapy, Domenic Camarra, Linda Fahey, Charlotte Scuderi, Rosa’s Roast Beef, Little Peoples Family Daycare, Denise Fitzgerald and the Medford Chamber of Commerce.
The National American Miss pageants award thousands in scholarships and prizes each year to recognize and assist in the development of young women leaders across the country. The pageants are based on inner beauty, poise, and presentation.
