Green Line Supporters Address Council

Advocates for Route 16 Stop Present Petition with Over 2,000 Signatures

Supporters of extending the Green Line to Route 16, many dressed in green, packed the Council Chambers on Tuesday night and presented their petition in support of the initiative, signed by over 2,000 people, to the City Council. Supporters say extending the Green Line to Route 16 will put nearly 10,000 additional people in Medford, Arlington, and Somerville within a ten minute walk of the train. The presentation was largely to get more residents and the Council on board with the proposal, as it is up to the state transportation department to determine where the line will end.
