Despite a valiant effort, the Medford Mustang varsity football team fell short against Bishop Fenwick last night at Hormel, 20-14.

The Mustangs scored two touchdowns, one in the first quarter on a ten-yard run by junior running back Pat Barry and one in the fourth on a six-yard run by junior wide receiver Juan Lopez.  Senior kicker Rodrigo Alegre got the kick each time for the extra point.

The game was rescheduled for Thursday night due to nasty weather forecast for Friday night, according to Medford Athletic Director Bob Maloney.

The loss leaves the Mustangs 0-3 heading into next Friday’s home game against Newton South, a team they narrowly beat last year and against which they will certainly be looking for another win.

The Mustangs do not face any Greater Boston League competition until October 24 when they head to Somerville.
