Woman Assaulted While Taking out Garbage
|Police Looking for Suspect in Middlesex Avenue Assault
Medford Police are looking for a suspect in connection with an assault of a woman who was taking out her garbage early Monday morning.
According to police, a woman taking out her garbage at 2AM outside her Middlesex Avenue home was approached by a male who asked for directions to the nearby Wellington train station. He then proceeded to pull a gun on the woman and demanded to enter her house. The victim was able to secure her door so the suspect could not get into the house and she hit the suspect with her keys and kicked him. The suspect hit the woman and then took off on foot up Middlesex Avenue toward Malden.
The suspect, pictured above in a sketch provided by police, is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male of medium build, about 5’9″ and in his mid to early-twenties. He had about a day’s worth of stubble, marks on his lower right cheek that resemble freckles, and wore a large “stud-type” earring in his left ear, a a dark-colored, backward baseball cap with an adjustable strap, a dark hooded sweatshirt with a zipper and a zig-zag pattern, and dark wind pants. While he did not have an accent the victim said he had a voice that suggested he is not native to the area.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Medford Detectives at 781-391-6767.
