US Representative Edward Markey (D-Malden) will step down as chair of the Communications, Technology, and Internet subcommittee chair to head the subcommittee on Energy and Environment.

“At a time when our economy and planet are both in crisis, I am eager to chair the Subcommittee on Energy and Environment. I look forward to pursuing the legislative agenda on climate change and clean energy at this critical time. I also look forward to working with Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Waxman, my friend Rick Boucher and other members on these issues,” said Rep. Markey in a written statement.
