Doc Kountze Art/Film Festival Sunday
|Tufts to Host Festival

The 12th Annual Doc Kountze Art/Film Festival will take place on Sunday, Feb. 22 at Tufts University’s Cohen Auditorium and it promises to be one of the best ever.
The eclectic lineup of six films ranges from a short documentary on the HONK! Festival, the popular Somerville pageant that blends music, dance, politics and art, to “Have You Seen Andy?” for which Medford’s own Melanie Perkins won a 2008 Emmy Award for “Best Investigative Journalism.” In the documetary, Perkins researches the 1976 disappearance of a childhood friend.
The movies begin at 1 p.m., and the filmmakers will be on hand to answer questions, which always lends interesting insight into their craft.
The event will conclude with a performance by jazz drummer and musician Terri Lyne Carrington, a Medford native, at 4:30 p.m.
The festival is presented by the Medford Arts Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that encourages and promotes the arts in Medford through arts appreciation and education.
Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
Cohen Auditorium is inside the Aidekman Arts Center on Talbot Avenue. Click here for directions.
