Police Look for Suspect in Medford Square Shooting
|Shots Fired into Crowd Saturday After Party at Boys and Girls Club
– Allison Goldsberry
Medford Police are searching for a suspect believed to have fired several shots into a crowd outside of the Middlesex Boys and Girls Club Saturday night.
According to Medford Police Lieutenant Paul Covino, a fight broke out during a large party in the gym of the club. Several witnesses reported seeing a black male aim a silver hand gun toward a crowd in the parking lot outside and fire five or six rounds into the crowd. Luckily, no one was hit though a car was struck by at least two of the bullets.
“It was a miracle no one was killed or injured by this,” said Lt. Covino.
Lt. Covino said the Boys and Girls Club had rented the gym to a couple of teenage girls who threw a party with a DJ and paid admission. About 300 people, ages twelve to early 20’s, attended the event. The club is located inside the Chevalier Theatre on Forest Street.
No arrests have been made. Police have several “people of interest” and the incident currently remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Medford Police.
