Medford Youth Clean up at Go Tournament
|Board Game Tourney Held at Boys and Girls Club

On Saturday, June 6 fifteen children ranging in age from 6 to 13 participated in the Medford Youth Go Tournament held at the Boys & Girls Club of Middlesex County’s Gene Mack Clubhouse.
The children have been playing on Wednesday afternoons at the Medford Public Library, on Thursday’s at the Roberts Elementary and McGlynn Elementary Afterschool programs, and on Friday’s at the Boys and Girls Club.
Jacky Wang, 13, and Christopher Tam, 8, tied for 1st place with three wins each. They both received a 2-sided 19 line/ 13 line Go board, a set of stones, and a trophy.
Kokeb Aklilu, 8, Nicholas Dunn, 9, Taylor Black, 9, Jeffrey Wang, 10, Jordan Campobasso, 10, Severin Taslimi, 6, each took second place with two wins apiece. They drew for choice of a board and stones, three copies of the book Go, More Than A Game, and two copies of the book The Second Book of Go.
Michael Black, 10, Issac Cardoso, 11, James Pickering, 9, Justin Hayward, 8, Malley Andemeskel, 8, Danielle Pellegrino, 9, tied for 3rd place. They received a binder containing Kifu forms for thirteen and nineteen line games.
A personalized participation mug was also given to each player.
