Local Time Trade ‘Bank’ Expanding in Medford, Area
Another bank has opened up in Medford, but this one keeps track of time instead of dollars.
The Time Trade Circle is a local “bank” that allows members to cash in on others’ time and talents by swapping them with their own. For example, one member who spends an hour cat-sitting for another member builds up a “time dollar” and can use that to “pay” for a needed service provided by another member, such as a haircut.
The variety of services available are only limited by the diversity of talents of the members and range from music lessons to computer repair to landscape design.
Medford resident Jimmy Morse said it was standing room only at a recent meeting to organize a time trade group in Medford. Morse is excited about being part of the group.
“Not only do you save money, you learn new things, meet new friends and get help without paying,” said Morse.
Morse said he has offered rides for shopping, political campaign work, and creating a wooden printer stand.

The Time Trade Circle has a lot of members in Cambridge/Somerville and many surrounding towns, plus more and more in Medford too! Check the web site and contact us if you’re interested in attending upcoming orientations in Cambridge. Thanks!
I joined this group last night and so far I’ve offered to give rides, work on a Political Campaign and build a printer stand. I just found a Master Electrician to do some things around here. Watch for the next meeting and join in this fun group!
