OpenAir Circus ‘Does Broadway’
|Local Kids Perform in 24th Annual Circus
Now in its 24th year, OpenAir Circus caps off its season with performances of “OPENAIR Circus Goes to Broadway.”
Join us under the big top as kids from Medford, Somerville and beyond tumble, balance, juggle, unicycle, stilt and more to songs from Broadway musicals.
Performances will be held Friday, July 31, at 7PM; Saturday, August 1, at 2PM and 7PM; and Sunday, August 2, at 2PM. Nunziato Field is at the intersection of Summer Street and Vinal Avenue, near Union Square in Somerville.
Suggested donation is $3. The show will run about two hours with intermission. Refreshments and circus toys will be available for sale.
Founded in 1986 by parents in Somerville, OPENAIR Circus has been providing a place where young children and teens from all backgrounds can develop mad skills, self confidence, and leadership in a supportive community. OPENAIR keeps registration costs to a bare minimum to maximize accessibility to everyone.
“The OPENAIR Circus offers local families a unique and fun experience,” said Circus Chairman Peter Jehlen. “Every summer, our volunteer-run program provides circus arts training to over 150 area children. There are over twenty Medford kids and parents in the program this year. Few things are more rewarding than seeing these students perform with such self-confidence and pride.”
