Mayor McGlynn Stumps for Coakley
|Medford Mayor Hits Campaign Trail for US Senate Candidate
Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn recently hit the campaign trail for US Senate candidate and fellow Medford resident Martha Coakley.
Mayor McGlynn, pictured at right, was the emcee of a Coakley campaign rally in Boston on Wednesday. McGlynn, who has endorsed Coakley, said she would make a great US Senator.
“She is someone who is compassionate and cares but she’s also tough and very direct. She gets results,” said Mayor McGlynn.
Mayor McGlynn said he will continue to help Coakley’s campaign.
Coakley, the state’s first female Attorney General, is running for Senator Ted Kennedy’s former seat. If elected, she would also be the state’s first female US Senator.
A Democratic Primary is being held December 8. Coakley faces opposition from three other Democrats, including US Representative Michael Capuano. The general election for the seat is January 19.
