For the fourth year, Medford High School and Medford Vocational Technical High School faculty and staff have generously donated to provide a nice holiday for local children.
Organizers Jeanette Murphy, Marie Cassidy, and Joanne Panzini collected $2,700 from faculty and staff and purchased Christmas presents for seventeen DSS children in Medford. Murphy said each child receives a coat, hat, and gloves and that they were able to purchase nearly everything on each kid’s wish list.
The presents will be delivered by the DSS to the families in time for Christmas.
Murphy said the idea for the gift drive began four years ago when Superintendent Roy Belson, Assistant Superintendent Beverly Nelson, and the administrative staff decided to give back to the community rather than buy presents for one another.
