Mike Davis Advances to Next Round on Music Reality TV Show

Medford native Mike Davis wowed the judges on American Idol’s ninth season, which debuted on Tuesday night.

Davis, whose family lives in the Fulton Heights, works on the “Codzilla,” a high-speed boat ride in the Boston Harbor. He is a 2008 Medford High School graduate who was active in the drama club.

Davis sang the Beatles’ “Yesterday” during his audition, charming judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Victoria Beckham, and Kara DioGuardi (with whom he tried to solicit a date).

Davis earned his way to the next round of the reality competition, Hollywood auditions.
